Do what I wanna Do

The quality of the Vid isn't that great but I couldn't pass up playing this song. I'm digging the dance moves, the cool telemarketer headset he's wearing. My favorite part about this video is the haircut and the "cool" wardrobe that he's wearing. Good Friday to all.

For Time!

"The Anaconda can swim about as fast as I can run, Is stronger than I am and can hold its breath for up to 20 minutes.... I can barely hold mine for 60 seconds". My reaction to hearing this was WELL THAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING CHASING ONE? The Australian guy on the Discovery Channel goes on to say "My only chance of getting a picture of this snake is to wrestle it and hope my conditioning is better than his... Anaconda's have horrible stamina". To which I was thinking, you went all the way down to the Rain Forrest in South America with "hope" of outlasting an Anaconda's stamina for a picture? Why didn't you just get on google, click the images button and find a picture... Like I did?!

Which brings me on to my next thought. Everyone who is competing in sectionals is trying to guess what the WOD's are going to be. Even further than that, everyone who competed in the CrossFit Games last year or was a spectator is trying to guess what the WOD's will be at the Games this year. What if this year the WOD was wrestling an Anaconda for time? I mean wrestling a 200lb+ snake demonstrates strength ( plus it would make sense because there is talk of there being some sort of pool in the WOD's this year) And it would definitely test people's metabolic conditioning. I mean the guy on the Discovery Channel looked pretty drained after he won his wrestling match with Gigantor. Just some thoughts that passed through my brain.

these wires are spaced 10 inches apart

Oh, and you will be happy to know that my input was not asked for, on any of the sectional's WOD's.

Let me Hear some noise

So, I was slacking last Friday and didn't put up an Old School song of the day. Hopefully this one will make up for it. Hope you enjoy, don't let the gloomy weather get you down. Have a good weekend and keep on living the dream.

"Gatorade...H2O"

  1. Weight loss. Water is one of the best tools for weight loss, first of all because it often replaces high-calorie drinks like soda and juice and alcohol with a drink that doesn't have any calories. But it's also a great appetite suppressant, and often when we think we're hungry, we're actually just thirsty. Water has no fat, no calories, no carbs, no sugar. Drink plenty to help your weight-loss regimen.

  2. Heart healthy. Drinking a good amount of water could lower your risks of a heart attack. A six-year study published in the May 1, 2002 American Journal of Epidemiology found that those who drink more than 5 glasses of water a day were 41% less likely to die from a heart attack during the study period than those who drank less than two glasses.

  3. Energy. Being dehydrated can sap your energy and make you feel tired -- even mild dehydration of as little as 1 or 2 percent of your body weight. If you're thirsty, you're already dehydrated -- and this can lead to fatigue, muscle weakness, dizziness and other symptoms.

  4. Headache cure. Another symptom of dehydration is headaches. In fact, often when we have headaches it's simply a matter of not drinking enough water. There are lots of other causes of headaches of course, but dehydration is a common one.

  5. Healthy skin. Drinking water can clear up your skin and people often report a healthy glow after drinking water. It won't happen overnight, of course, but just a week of drinking a healthy amount of water can have good effects on your skin.

  6. Digestive problems. Our digestive systems need a good amount of water to digest food properly. Often water can help cure stomach acid problems, and water along with fiber can cure constipation (often a result of dehydration).

  7. Cleansing. Water is used by the body to help flush out toxins and waste products from the body.

  8. Cancer risk. Related to the digestive system item above, drinking a healthy amount of water has also been found to reduce the risk of colon cancer by 45%. Drinking lots of water can also reduce the risk of bladder cancer by 50% and potentially reduce the risk of breast cancer.

  9. Better exercise. Being dehydrated can severely hamper your athletic activities, slowing you down and making it harder to lift weights. Exercise requires additional water, so be sure to hydrate before, during and after exercise.

Our Deepest Fear...

"It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us"

Even though I've heard this poem before, the most recent time that I heard this poem this is the line that stuck out the most to me. It made me start asking myself, what is it that I'm afraid of? Failure? No, lots of people fail. One of my favorite quotes is "I have not failed. I've Just found 10,000 ways that wont work" by Thomas Edison.

In my head I broke this line down a little bit and asked myself why would our light frighten us and not our darkness? Aren't people usually afraid of the dark? Not the same thing I know, but you never think of people being afraid of light. Don't you always hear stories about people with near death experiences going towards the light and aren't celebrities always searching for the lime light? So... if that's the case, WHY would we be afraid of our light and not our darkness?

What I came up with is darkness is where we hide. It's where excuses dominate our lives. Fear dictates what you do and what you will allow yourself to do. It is our light that allows us to shine so to speak. It's where we do the things we didn't think we could do and it's where we actually hold ourselves accountable for the things that we say we're going to do. Our Light is where excuses don't exist, it's where what we do and say does make a difference, not only in our lives but to the world. Pressure doesn't exist because you already know the outcome. You WILL shine! Being good at something is easy, being GREAT at something... well that requires you to step into the light.

I'm a Fan

Let me start out by saying that I'm a Boston Red Sox Fan. However, I got called out this morning for wearing an LA Dodgers cap. I was told "if you were a real Red Sox fan, you wouldn't be wearing that cap". Say what?

I'm a Red Sox fan and what I'm about to say could upset some peeps. I like Derek Jeter. He's good. He's clutch. If the games on the line and I'm the coach I want him at the plate. I Like the Lakers, I'm a Bulls fan since Jordan but I like the Lakers and if the games on the line I want Kobe taking the shot. Why? Because these guys have produced over and over again. It's that simple. I love sports. So maybe I don't have favorite teams... There are teams that I like and indivdual players that I like. I do think that some people can be a bit over board when it comes to sports and their favorite teams. Who knows though, maybe those guys know something I don't. Maybe a fan means to be like this guy (below).

Twit, Tweet, Tweeted.

Ok, today's topic of discussion has been Twitter. I will be the first to admit that twitter to me is like a foreign language. I was under the impression that this social media network was simply for letting people know how you feel. Well what do ya know, I was wrong. It doesn't happen very often but believe it or not it happens. I was however informed this a.m. that twitter has become the new way to communicate with people. You can send direct messages, you can post to facebook from twitter and who knows what else you can do.

I am curious to learn this new lango... only because I think its funny to hear people say the words Twit, Tweet, Tweeted. WHAT? It makes me feel like I'm talking to Tweety Bird. So, any tips you peeps have would be greatly apprciated.

LOL

Well now that the Superbowl is over, I usually go into a mini depression because it usually means that I have to wait until April before I hear any Football news. On a brighter side though, the commercials HILARIOUS. In particular the ETrade commercials with the babies always make me literally LOL. So... here is a compilation of a few of my fav commercials.

Happy Monday!

Alrighty ladies and gents "I'm back in the game" (Name that movie quote). I've been a little under the weather and although I thought I was going to die, I made it out alive. I was having a discussion this morning with part of the NKOTB fan club and decided that I'd start a day early taking you down memory lane. For those who have watched this movie you'll appreciate it and for those of you who haven't watched it I'M SORRY! Go rent it!

Case of the Mondays

You ever ask people on Monday how they're doing and they reply back "Oh I've got a case of the Mondays"? Huh? That's what someone told me this morning. Just makes me think that our days take on whatever mentality we have for that day. So, Happy Monday to you!
